History of the Tower of Pisa

In Italy, there is a famous towers. Not because the tower is a beautiful building or derived from the ancient times, but because the tower is tilted. Ever heard of the leaning tower of Pisa?
Well, this tower that we want ulik nih. Actually, the tower is designed to stand upright like the other towers. Apparently, when built in August 1173, the story is different. Not long after the construction, the tower is in the long run really seem skewed.
Make this tower was also not easy. Tower of Pisa was built almost 200 years (wow!) and was conducted in three stages. Development of the first floor is made of white marble began on August 9, 1173. First floor is surrounded by huge pillars with classical style.
After the third floor was built in 1178, the tower began to tilt because the foundation stands on land that is not stable. Finally, this tower design differs significantly from the original plan. This development was also delayed for 100 years because the people of Pisa at that time fighting with people from other regions. But, because that's delayed, the tower can actually survive. If not postponed, perhaps even the tower would fall.

In 1198 a few hours put in buildings that have not finished it. About 74 years later, the architect Giovanni di Simone went on to build a tower. Not long, construction was again stopped because there is war. Finally, in 1372 so it is also the last floor which is the bell chamber and the bell was installed there. Development is done by a different architect, that is Tommasso in Andrea Pisano. He successfully combines these elements in a room Gothic bell with Roman style. In this tower there are approximately seven bells. The largest bell is installed around 1655. From this tower, appears unique stories at once make excited. For example, the astronomer Galileo Galilei had dropped two balls of different weight from the tower. This is to show that the velocity decreases from the second ball was not because of the weight. But this story also reportedly fairy tale. However, that right there is an order of the ruler of Italy when Benito Mussolini ordered that the tower be returned to a vertical or upright position. To execute a command that, given the additional concrete tower foundation. Apparently, the result does not match estimates. Tower added even sink into the soft soil. When World War II, the U.S. military almost destroyed the Tower of Pisa is also for fear of snipers there. Fortunately, the withdrawal of troops to save the tower. Just try it if the Tower of Pisa was actually destroyed by American soldiers, we will not know if there really is tilted tower because of the soft soil. Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italian: Torre pendente in Pisa or Torre abbreviated in Pisa) is the campanile or bell tower of the cathedral in Pisa, Italy. Tower of Pisa is actually made to stand vertically like a tower bell in general, but it began to list shortly after its construction started in August 1173. He is located behind the cathedral and is the third building Campo dei Miracoli (Field of the rainbow), the city of Pisa. The height of this tower is 55.86 m from ground level as low and 56.70 m from the top soil surface. Width of the wall beneath it reached 4.09 m and at the peak of 2.48 m. Its weight is estimated at 14,500 tons. Tower of Pisa has 294 steps.
